a source of sound produces 20 compressions and 20 rarefactions in 0.2 seconds. the distance between a compression and the next rarefaction is 50cm.find the wavelength, frequency and velocity of the wave.

Distance between a compression and a rarefaction=50 cm = 0.5m
therefore,wavelength=0.5*20=10 m..............(1)
frequency=1/T = 1/0.2 = 10/2 = 5 Hz.............(2)
now,
velocity = frequency*wavelength
velocity =5*10
therefore, velocity = 50 m/s
