Answer:

‘A stitch in time saves nine’ is an old proverb that holds relevance even in the current times. It literally means that if we stitch a torn cloth when the first stitch comes off, we shall be able to stitch it faster and prevent it from tearing further. On the other hand, if we do not pay attention to it as it begins to tear, it will keep tearing further and we shall not be able to bring it back to its original form easily. It will take a lot of time to stitch later.

This applies to almost everything in life. If we procrastinate and delay our work, we shall only create problems for ourselves. The work will go on increasing with time and we shall feel burdened as the days will pass. If we complete our work timely and regularly, we shall not have any back log and we will not feel over burdened or stressed because of it. This will render a feeling of contentment and keep our personal as well as professional life intact. People who are disciplined complete their work timely. They pay attention to even the smallest problems in their life and try to solve them before they turn big. This is why they are more successful than others. Each one of us must understand the importance of this proverb and work accordingly.

Well, I am going to illustrate an example from Indian History; therefore, it would be better for you to understand—the great Sultan Md. Bin Tughlaq had committed many mistakes in his life, but I am writing about the most famous one.

The first one is that he didn’t pay any attention that his enemies are attacking his kingdom randomly. His ministers cited him that enemies from Central Asia are trying to attack their territory. Still, the Sultan thought that he could easily handle the situation efficiently and did not pay attention to it. His delaying the matter makes the case ugly and critical. So who ultimately came to be the worst sufferers? At that time, he focused on his capital and shifted his money from Delhi to Daulatabad because the position of Delhi is on the northern side, so he can’t take care of the other places. This was an expensive task. He made guest houses for the subjects, donated food and money also.

So we can conclude that a person who delays in dealing with problems or delays in seeking a proper solution, obviously faces issues in their life. So please don’t wait for tomorrow, do it now, then ultimately who will be in an advantageous position, obviously you. Well, I am narrating another incident that will make you understand the importance of the phrase entirely.  The Arab states were deciding to attack Israel when Israel was constructed just. We all know that Arabians were more potent in comparison to Israel, so the whole world concluded at the beginning that Israel is going to lose the war. But Israel started preparing herself for the war, and when the time came, she is the one who attacked first.  Arab at that time was not well competent and was vetoed in the battle poorly. Here again, in this case, “A stitch in time saves nine” is applicable. Israel, without wasting time, prepared herself and attacked first and eventually saved her country. It is the essential protocol of life that one should follow. The person who will follow this will undoubtedly gain in his life, and the person who will disobey this will face hardships in his life.

Answer:
A stitch in time saves nine

The proverb "a stitch in time saves nine" means that it is better to deal with problems as early as possible. If we don't sort out a problem immediately it may become more difficult to solve in the future.

This proverb is derived from the action of promptly sewing up a small hole in our clothes to prevent them from tearing further and becoming larger. It is better to deal with a problem immediately because if we delay the problem is likely to get worse and more difficult to deal with later. When a problem is left undone due to procrastination or delay it will become harder and harder to cope with. It may cause loss or more difficult troubles in the future. Success in achieving our goals depends on doing our works as early as possible. Putting off duties and assignments will lead to failure.

We must never put off doing something until a later time. What can be done today must not be kept pending for tomorrow. We say that “a stitch in time saves nine" to express that it is better to spend a little time and effort in dealing with a problem immediately because it may get worse and take longer time or more effort to deal with later on.

If we manage every work in time, life will be more organized. This will reduce anxiety and we can enjoy more peace of mind.
