A speed walker covered 4 1/2 mi in 3/4 hour

⇒ 3/4 hours = 4 1/2 miles

Find the distance covered in 1 hour:

3/4 hours = 4 1/2 miles

3/4 hours = 9/2 miles

1 hour = 9/2 ÷ 3/4 = 9/2 x 4/3 = 6 miles

Find the distance covered in 3.5 hours:

1 hour = 6 miles

3.5 hours = 6 x 3.5 = 21 miles

Answer: The distance will be 21 miles.

Speed walker covered 4 1 / 2 m in 3 / 4 hour

We can also write it as,

4 1 / 2 m = 3 / 4 hour

9 / 2 m = 3 / 4 hour

Multiply both sides by 4 / 3

9 / 2 × 4 / 3 m = 3 / 4 × 4 / 3 hour

3 × 2 m = 1 hour

6 m = 1 hour

Therefore, speed walker will cover 6 m in 1 hour and in 3.5 hours speed walker will cover { 3.5 × 6} m.

Thus,
Speed walker will cover 21 m in 3.5 hours.
