A speed boat has streamlined shape so as to reduce fluid friction from air as it reduces exposed area to moving air and hence the boat is able to move at very fast speed.

A streamlined body can over come friction easily. Therefore for lesser fuel consumption by preventing the speed boat from facing any friction the speed boat has a streamlined body.
