The charges on sphere 'a' and sphere 'd' are positive.

  • We know that like charges repel each other while unlike charges attract each other.
  • The charge of sphere 'c' is known to be negatively charged.
  • As sphere 'b' is repelled by sphere 'c', sphere 'b' is also negatively charged.
  • Sphere 'a' attracts sphere 'b'. So 'a' is positively charged.
  • Similarly since 'c' attracts 'd', therefore 'd' is also positively charged.
