volume of sphere = volume of cylinder

(4/3)π(r^3) = π(r^2)h

(4/3)r = h

2d = 3h

d/h = 3/2

(d/h)-1 = (3/2)-1

(d-h)/h = 1/2

hence percentage by which diameter exceeds height is:

100/2=50%

volume of cylinder = πr^2h

volume of sqhere = 4/3 πr^3

Equating both, we get

4/3r=h

2r = 3h /2

diameter D = 2r =3h/2

now d - h =h/2

d-h/h = 1/2

Hence, the percentage by which the diameter exceeds the height = (d-h)/h × 100 = 50%

this is your answer....
