The ball will sink in water.

Given:-

Radius of spherical ball = 2.5cm

Mass of ball = 15kg

Density of water = 1g/ml

To Find:-

The ball will sink or float on water.

Solution:-

We can easily find out that the ball will sink or float on water by using these simple steps.

As

Radius of spherical ball (r) = 2.5cm

Mass of ball (m) = 15kg = 15000g

Density of water (d') = 1g/ml

Density of ball (d) =?

Here, first we need to find out the density of the ball.

So according to the formula

density =  \frac{mass}{volume}

d =  \frac{m}{v}

d =  \frac{15000}{ \frac{4}{3}\pi {r}^{3}  }

d =  \frac{15000}{ \frac{4}{3} \times 3.14 \times {2.5}^{3}  }

on solving we get,

d =  \frac{15000}{65.42}

d = 229.29

Now, according to the case

if density of water > density of ball then ball will float

and if density of water < density of ball then ball will sink

Here, density of water < density of ball

Hence, The ball will sink in water.
