The possible reason of the different values of terminal velocity, is as follows -
- The terminal velocity is maximum velocity that can be obtained by an object while free falling through a fluid medium.
- Now, the value of terminal velocity is dependent upon four factors, which are - 1) density of the falling object, 2) radius of the falling object, 3) coefficient of viscosity of the medium, and 4) density of the medium.
- Now, among the above mentioned four factors the 1 and 2 will remain constant for both free falls. The different terminal value in two free falls will now suggest the differences in the value of 3 and 4.
- So, there might be differences in the values of density and coefficient of viscosity of the two liquid mediums, that is causing different values of terminal velocity.

Explanation:
because terminal velocityof depends on viscosity and density of medium.different fluids have different values of density and viscosity so terminal velocity is also different.
