A spherical iron shell with 8cm as external diameter weighs 1860 4/7g. Find the thickness of the shellif the density of metal is 12g/cm3?

let the internal radius be p

volume of the shell=(4/3)pi(4^3-p^3)

mass= 13024/7

density=mass/volume

12= (13024/7)/{(4/3)pi(64-p^3)}

After simply

64 - p^3 = 37

p^3 = 64-37= 27

p = 3

Thickness of the shell = 4 - p = 4 - 3 =1cm
