A spherical mirror and cancer perikal lens have age of focal length of -15 CM. The mirror and the lens are likely to be?
•both concave
•both convex
•the mirror is concave and the lens is convex
•the mirror is convex but the lens is concave

Tell meh how uh guessed about the answer?

Hint:

The distance between the principal focus and pole is called focal length. In case of reflection of light by spherical mirrors, all the distances measured to the left of principal axis are taken as negative.

Reason:

As per the New Cartesian Sign Convention, focal length of concave mirror and concave mirror is taken negative. As per the above condition, the given focal length has negative value therefore both mirror and lens are concave.
