Although sponges can be compressed but it doesn't means that they are not solids.

They are solids, special structure of them makes them compressible other wise they are still solid.

The intermolecular forces of attraction is still strong and intermolecular space is still negligible.

a sponge can be compressed as it contains fine pores through which air can pass through,the sponge is solid as it does not change its shape unless it is compressed and it also has definite volume and shape...................if it is right please mark me brainliest i will b very thankful to u.
