A sponge has minute holes,in which air is trapped, when we press it,the air is expelled out and we are able to compress it.sponge is a porous solid.but in other words the property of compressibility means an object is commpresed and it remains in that compressed shape until we apply force to get it back to its normal ...

Ans. Sponge been a can be still compressed because the sponge is porous, it has many pores inside and outside this pores are filled with air but when the sponge is compressed the air rushes outside and the volume decreases and it's seems that the sponge is compressed but when the pressure is removed it returns in it actual state....
