Yes it can sound like a bell , to prove this we can perform n simple experiment . tie a string to the spoon handle and tie the end with your index finger ,and put your index fingers on your ear and lean forward and strike the spoon against a hard surface u will hear a sound , its because of  the spoons vibration which travels through the string ,to your ear .

As they are made up of metals the can produce sound as metals are sonorous 

you can prove this by hitting the spoon to an other metal surface it produce the same type of sound which bell produces
