The height of the slab is 6 cm.

Explanation:

Given data:

  • Refractive index of the material = 1.5
  • Raised height = 2 cm

Solution:

d (apparent) = d (actual) / μ

d (actual) = t

d (apparent) =  t - 2

t - 2 =  t / μ

t-2 = t / 1.5

=> t = 6 cm

Thus the height of the slab is 6 cm.
