Answer:

Time length of spring mass gadget is given by

T=2π \sqrt{m/k}

Time period is only dependent on mass of object and sprig constant

as m and k do not change, new time period will remain T.

We assume that extension or compression in spring is very small compared to natural length of the spring

according to hooks law if F is force acting on the spring and x is compression or extension in spring

F/x=constant =k

here k is the spring constant

so here if the extension or compression is within elastic limit of spring the spring constant remains same

for a given spring its spring constant does not change if the extension or compression is small comparable to its natural length

spring constant is inversely proportional to  its length. it means if the given spring with spring constant k is cut into two parts then the spring constant of each part will be 2k.
