GIVEN -
Distance = 100m
Time taken = 9.83 sec

Now, avg. speed = total distance/total time taken
therefore, avg. speed= 100/9.83
avg. speed= 10.17m/s

changing into km/hr
avg. speed=(speed in m/s) x (5/18)
therefore avg. speed= 10.17x 5/18

avg speed in km/hr= 2.825 km/hr

reishumwi: I don't think your answer is right. It's wrong! To convert to km/h multiply by 18/5. To convert to m/s multiply by 5/18.

Distance = 100 m
Time = 9.83 sec
Average speed = Total distance/Total time taken
                         = 100/9.83 = 10000/983 = 10.172
To convert it to km/hour we need to multiply it by 18/5,
Hence, average speed in km/hour = (10.172 × 18)/5 = 183.096 ÷ 5 = 36.6192 km/h.
