The answer is 400 Watt.

GIVEN

A sprinter weighing 50 kg increases her speed from 0 to 4 metr per second in 1 sec.

TO FIND

The power developed by the sprinter.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

We know that,

Power is the rate of change of energy.

Therefore, We will first calculate the energy of the sprinter.

Final velocity of sprinter = 4m/s

Kinetic energy = (1/2)mv²

= (1/2) × 50 × 4²

= 400 J

Power = Energy/time taken

= 400/1

= 400 Watt

Hence, The answer is 400 Watt.
