A square and a parallelogram have equal areas. If the side of the square is 30 m and the height of
the parallelogram is 15 m, find the length of the parallelogram.

Solution :-

Given ,

  • Areas of parallelogram & square are equal .
  • Height of parallelogram = 15m
  • Side of square = 30 m

We need to find ,

  • Length of parallelogram = ?

According to the question :-

  • Area of square = Area of parallelogram

Substituting ,

• Area of square = Side²

• Area of parallelogram = Base × height

⇒ side² = base × height

⇒ 30² = 15 × base

⇒ 900 ÷ 15 = Base

Base = 60m = Length
