a square and a parallelogram have the same area if a side of a square is 40 and the height of the parallelogram is 20 metres find the base of the parallelogram​

area of square =a^2

therefore 40*40=1600

area of parallelogram is equal to the area of the square so

b*h=1600

b*20=1600

b=1600/20

therefore b=80 metres
