A square and a parallelogram have the same area. If a side of the square is 40m and the
height of the parallelogram is 20m, find the base of the parallelogram.​

if the area of square and parallelogram are equal then,

area of square =area of parallelogram

l*2=1/2base×height

40*2=1/2×20×x

1600=10x

x =1600/10

x=160

then area of parallelogram is 1/2×20×160=1600

hence verified
