A square and a rectangle have equal areas. If each side of the square is 18 cm and the width of the rectangle is 12 cm find the length of the rectangle

Area of square = (side)^2
Area of rectangle = length * width

Area of square = 18^2
Area of rectangle = 12 * l

18*18 = 12*l
l = (18 * 18) /12
l = 27

side of square = 18cm,
area of square= side*side
= 18*18
=324cm sq.
according to the question,
area of rec = area of square
area of rec = 324 cm sq.
width of rec= 12cm
length=?
area of rec= length*width
324= length*12
324%12= length
length=27cm
