Given :  A square and a regular hexagon are joined together along one edge.

To Find : angle a

Solution:

interior angle of square = 90°

interior angle of regular  hexagon = 120°

formula to find interior angle of regular polygon  = (n - 2) * 180° / n

Now from the figure

interior angle of square  + interior angle of regular  hexagon + angle a  = 360°

=> 90° + 120° + angle a  = 360°

=>  210° + angle a  = 360°

=>  angle a  =150°
