perimeter of the square = Perimeter of the triangle
4×a = 3×s.............…...…………(1)
diagonal of the square = a√2 = 12√2
= a = 12cm
s = 4a÷3. [from (1)]
s = 4×12÷3
s = 12cm
area of equilateral triangle = √3/4 × s^2
= √3/4 × 144
= 48√3
