Given:-

  • Breadth of square and rectangular field.
  • Perimeter

To find:-

Area of the larger field.

Solution:-

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x

Perimeter of rectangle= Perimeter of square

2(80+x)=4×60

80+x=120

x=120-80

x=40

________________________________

So the breadth of rectangle is 40m

________________________________

Area of square= (60×60)m²

3600m²

________________________________

Breadth of rectangle= (40×80) m²

3200

________________________________

Hence we concluded that square field has larger area.

♧Question♧

  • a square and rectangle field with breadth as 60 m and 80 m respectively have same perimeter, which feild have a large area?

♧Answer♧

Given data:-

  • Side of square = 60m
  • Length of rectangle = 80m
  • Same perimeter.

To find:-

  • Larger area = ?

Solution:-

  • According to the question

Perimeter of rectangle = Perimeter of square

  • ⇒2( l + b ) = 4a
  • ⇒2 ( 80 + b ) = 4 (60)
  • ⇒160 + 2b = 240
  • ⇒2b = 240 - 160
  • ⇒2b = 80
  • ⇒b = 80/2
  • b = 40m

So the Breathe of the rectangle is 40m.

Now,

☆Area of square = side × side

  • ⇒A = 60 × 60
  • A = 3600m²

☆Area of rectangle = l × b

  • ⇒A = 80 × 40
  • A = 3200m²

Therefore the square has larger area that the rectangle.
