The formula is (a-b) (a+b)=a^2-b^2

creativevishnu4: (a-b) (a+b) = a^2 - b^2 not a^2 + b^2
chintuchaman23: Thats a^2-b^2,
smrutipragnya: sorry, I was in a hurry.
creativevishnu4: no problem. Mistakes happen naturally

There is no identity fot this but you can use otger identities to take out a^2+b^2

1) (a+b)^2 = a^2+b^2+2ab
=>(a+b)^2-2ab= a^2+b^2

Similarly you can use
(a-b)^2=a^2+b^2-2ab
