\textbf{\huge{ANSWER:}}

\sf{Given:}

Side of the square field = 45 m

Width of the path built around the square field = 2.5 m

\sf{To\:Find}

The area of the path built around the square field whose width is of 2.5 m

\sf{Your\:Solution:}

Area of the path = Area of the whole square field inculding the path - Area of the square field only

Area of the square field only = 45 × 45 (m^{2})

=》 \boxed{\tt{Area = 2025 m^{2}}}

Dimensions of the square field with the path = 45 + 2.5 + 2.5 (m)

=》 50 m

Area of the whole square field including the path = 50 × 50 (m^{2})

=》 \boxed{\tt{Area = 2500 m^{2}}}

Area of the Path = 2500 m^{2} - 2025 m^{2}

=》 \boxed{\boxed{\tt{Area\:of\:the\:path = 475 m^{2}}}}

A square field with side 45m has a 2.5m wide path around it. Find the area of the path.

Answer :

Refer the attachment for figure.

Here,

Length of side of Square ABCD = 65 sq.m

Now,

Area of the square ABCD = Side × Side

= 45 × 45

= 2025 sq. m

Width of the path is 2.5 m

So, length of each side of the square  EFGH = ( 45 - ( 2.5 + 2.5 ))

= 40 m

Now,

Area of square EFGH = side × side

= 40 × 40

= 1600 sq.m

We have to find area of the path.

Area of the path =Area of the square ABCD - Area of square EFGH

= 2025 sq.m - 1600 sq.m

= 475 sq. m

Thus, Area of the path is 475 sq.m
