a square has sides 10 CM. a parallelogram with a base of side 8 CM and hight 3 CM is cut from the square. find the area of the remaining piece.

hey mate!

area of square = side ^2

=100cm^2

area of parallelogram = base X Height

= 24cm^2

substract the area of parallelogram from that of square. .u will get the area of remaning portion

=(100-24)

=76csm^2

Area of square = side×side
area =10×10
area =100cm square
Area of parallelogram = base × height
Area=8×3
Area= 24cm square
Area of remaining piece = Area of square - Area of parallelogram
Area of remaining piece =100-24
Area of remaining piece = 76cm square
