A square is formed from a 10 cm long wire. If with the same wire a rectangle of length 12 cm is formed then what is the breadth of the rectangle? Which figure will have more area? Square or rectangle?

It is bent into a rectangle of length 12cm. Let us consider the breadth to be 'b' cm. For a rectangle of length l and breadth b its perimeter is 2(l+b). And its area is (12×8) cm² = 96 cm²
