Given:

Area of a square lawn  is 62500 sq metre.

A wooden fence is to be laid around the lawn

To find:

The required wooden fence around the lawn  

Solution:

Let a be the side of the square lawn

then area of the square lawn = a²

from data Area of a square lawn is 62500 sq metre

⇒ a² = 62500 sq metre

⇒ a² =  250² meter²

Therefore, length of the side of lawn, a = 250 meters  

The wooden fence required = perimeter of the square lawn

= 4(length of the side) = 4(250 meter) = 1000 meters

The required wooden fence =  1000 meters
