area of path = 165 m^2

side of the lawn=x

side of the lawn including path =x+2 (2.5)=x+5

area of square=side*side

Now,

or,x^2= (x+5)-165

or,x^2=(x^2+10x+25)

or, x^2=140-x^2=10x

or, -140x=-10x

or, x= 140/10=14

:. The area of the lawn is 14 metre .
