Step-by-step explanation:

Let the side of the lawn be x

so, area of lawn = x²

Therefore, side of lawn including the path =

= x + 2(2.5) m

= (x + 5) m

Area of lawn = (area of lawn including the path) - (area of path)

x² = (x+5)² - 200

x² = x² + 25 + 10x - 200

x² = x² + 10x - 175

175 = 10x

x = 17.5 m

therefore, side of lawn = 17.5m

Thus, area of lawn = x² = 17.5² = 306.25 m²
