A square OABC is inscribed in a quadrant of a circle as shown in the figure. If OA = 14 cm, find the area of the shaded​

Answer: Area of shaded region=112cm².

Give that OA=14cm

i.e, side of the square inscribed in the quadrant = 14cm

then by pythagorus theorem

OB²=OA²+AB²

=OB²=(14)²+(14)²

=OB²=196+196

=OB²=392

OB=√392

OB=14√2cm

Area of shaded region =Area of the quadrant - Area of the square

                                      =(1/4πr²)-a²

                                      =(1/4*22/7*(14√2)² - (14)²

                                      =308-196=112cm²
