When you talk about rectangle, you should remember two thing;

When you have to find out the area of rectangle then multiply length to its width.

When you have to find any one side, then divide area by given side.

So here, I have to find out the width.

So W=A/l

= 36/9

W = 4 cm.

What are the sides of a rectangle having an area of 36 cm sq?

The length of two sides of a triangle are 6 cm and 8 cm. Between which two numbers can the length of the third side fall?

The area of rectangle is 36 cm sq. in whole numbers. What could be its possible length and width?

A square has a perimeter of 36 metres. What is the area?

The area of a square is 36cm2. What is the perimeter of the square?

Area = length x width

we can write is as A = L x W

plug the given values

36 = 9W

divide both sides by 9

4 cm = W

or

W = 4cm

answer: The length of the two shorter sides is W = 4 cm.
