A square of diagonal 18 cm is inscribed in a circle. Find the area included in the circle but not in the square.

r = 9 cm

We can also put the formula of segment.

As we are well concerned about the formula of segment. i.e.

πr²∅/360 - 1/2r²Sin∅

After putting the values, we get

22 × 9 × 9 × 90 _ 1 × 9 × 9 × 1

11 × 9 × 9 × 1 _ 81

= 891 _ 81

= 891 - 81 = 810

= 57.85 cm²

But according to question, there are 4 segments...

Area = 4 × area of segment

= 4 × 57.85

= 231.42
