A square of side 14 cm is cut from a quadrant OPBQ of a circle with centre o find the area of the shaded region

the most important thing in this question is to find the radius of the circle and as you have marked already it will be the diagonal of the square so the radius will be

14√2 cm

now we can easily find the area of the quadrant of circle = π *r*r/ 4 = 22* 14√2*14√2/ ( 7*4)

= 22*14 = 308 cm ^2

now find the area of square that is 14*14 = 196 cm^2

so area of remaining part = 308-196 = 112 cm ^2
