area required for cementing = ar(lareger square) - ar(smaller square)
= (40)^2 - (35)^2
= 1600-1225
= 375 sq.m
cost = 375 × 50
= Rs. 18750

let the square be SQUARE 1 &inside square be SQUARE 2...

area of SQUARE 1 =Side^2
= (40m)^2
=1600m^2

area of SQUARE 2=(35m)^2
=1225m^2

area that need to be cemented= area of SQUARE1 - area of SQUARE 2..

=(1600-1225)m^2
=375m^2

cost of cementing per m^2= rs 50

cost of 375m^2=rs (375 × 50)
=rs 18750
