A square piece of plywood has side 8cm.A parallelogram with base 6cmand height 5cm is cut from the piece. Find the area of remaining piece.

side of square = 8 cm
∴ area of square = 8 × 8 = 64 cm²
area of parallelogram that is cut from the piece = b × h
⇒ 6 × 5
⇒ 30 cm²
area of remaining piece = 64 - 30 ⇒ 34 cm²
