a square sheet of paper is converted into a cylinder by rolling it along its side. what is the ratio of the base radius to the side of the square​

Let us take side of sheet as p

Now when we roll this sheet, we can see that the side of the square becomes the circumference of the base. So we can say that

2πr = p

r = p ÷ 2π

Therefore the ratio of side of square to radius of of cylinder becomes -

p ÷ (p ÷ 2π)

Hence, by cancelling p, we get the ratio 1 : 1/2π

The ratio of radius of cylinder to the side of square is -

1/2π : 1

= 2π : 1
