If perimeter of a square is X, it's length is X/4 so it's area is (X/4)^2 = X^2/16. So in order to find area of a square from it's perimeter, square perimeter value and divided it by 16. So if perimeter is 40 cm, it's area is 40×40/16 = 100 cm^2. To find the diagonal pythagoras theorem can be used. D^2 = (X/4)^2+(X/4)^2, D^2 = 2X^2/16, D^2 = X^2/8, D = X/2×rt2. So in order to find diagonal of square from perimeter, divide perimeter value by 2×rt2. So if perimeter is 40 cm, it's diagonal is 40/2×rt2 = 14.14 cm.
