Side of a Square water tank = 40 m
Radius of a semicircular plot = Side of a Square/2 = 40 /2 = 20 cm
Area of 1 semi circular grassy plot = πr²/2
=( π × 20²) /2 = 400π/2 = 200π cm²
Area of 4 semi circular grassy plots = 4 × 200 π = 800 π cm²
Rate of turfing the plot = ₹ 1.25 per square metre
Cost of turfing the plot = Area of 4 semi circular grassy plots × Rate of turfing the plot
Cost of turfing the plot = 800 π × 1.25 = 800 × 3.14 × 1.25 = 2512 × 1.25 = ₹ 3140
[π= 3.14 (Given)]
Hence, the Cost of turfing the plot is ₹ 3140
