Area of square = Area of rectangle

a² = l × b ---------(1)

a = 40 cm;b = 20 cm

Now on putting the values of and b in equation

40² = l × 20

1600/20 = l

l = 80 cm

Hence , the length of the rectangle is 80cm.

  • Length of rectangle is 80 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

  • Side of a square is 40 cm.
  • Breadth of rectangle is 20 cm.
  • Area of square and Area of rectangle are equal.

To find:-

  • Length of rectangle.

Solution:-

Area of square = Side × Side

= 40 × 40

= 1600

Area of square = 1600 cm².

________________________________

Area of rectangle = l × b

In which,

  • l is length of rectangle.
  • b is breadth of rectangle.

So,

= l × 20

Area of rectangle is l × 20 cm².

________________________________

It is given that,

Area of square and rectangle are equal.

So,

➜ Area of square = Area of rectangle

➜ 1600 = l × 20

➜ 1600/20 = l

80 = l

Or, l = 80

Verification:-

➜ Area of square = Area of rectangle

➜ 1600 = l × 20

  • Put l = 80

➜ 1600 = 80 × 20

➜ 1600 = 1600

Hence, Verified.

Therefore,

Length of rectangle is 80 cm.
