Raspberry pi 3 has two set of GPIO or General Purpose Digital Input/Output pin headers. One set of GPIO has 26 pins and other set of GPIO has 40 pins.

GPIO of 26 pins have +3.3v at pin no 1 and pin no 17. Also it has +5v at pin no 2 and pin no 4.

Please note that the voltage level 3.3v has no tolerance over 3.3v (not has 5v tolerance). There are no over voltage protection circuit on the board. The maximum permitted current draw from the 3.3v pin is 50mA. So we can say that GPIO pins are unbuffered and unprotected.
