Answer:

i)The probability that you draw a red card is 26/52 or 1/2, since half the cards in the deck are red. Since you replace the card, the probabiity that you draw a heart is 13/52 or 1/4, since a quarter of the cards are hearts.

ii)In a standard deck of cards there are 52 cards. There are 4 suits of 13 cards each, Two of these suits are black; Spades and Clubs, and the other two suits which are red; Hearts and Diamonds. There are 13 hearts in a standard deck.

iii) A card is drawn random from a well shuffled pack of 52 cards, what is the probability that the card drawn is a queen? There are four queens in a 52 card deck, so the probability of drawing a queen at random is 4/52 or 1/13.

iv)There are 2 black jacks in a standard 52 card deck, so the probability of getting a black jack is 2/52 or 1/26. In a deck of 52 cards, 5 cards are chosen

v)The probability of picking up an ace in a 52 deck of cards is 4/52 since there are 4 aces in the deck. The odds of picking up any other card is therefore 52/52 - 4/52 = 48/52.
