a) State one relevant observation for the following: At the anode when aqueous copper sulphate solution is electrolyzed using copper electrodes. Nothing is left at the anode as copper atoms form copper ions and migrate towards the cathode.

b) Solution. During the electrolysis of molten lead bromide, a graphite anode is preferred because graphite remains unaffected by the reactive bromine vapors which are released at the anode.

c) During electrolysis of lead bromide, there is loss of electrons at anode by bromine and gain of electrons at cathode by lead. Thus oxidation and reduction go side by side. Therefore, it is a redox reaction.
