Answer:

a) two laws of refraction are as follows;

1. the ray of incident, ray of refraction and the normal drawn to the interface always lie on the same plane.

2.the ratio of sine angle of incident to the sine angle of refraction is a constant.

b)refractive index = speed of light in air/speed of light in medium

    speed of light in air is 3*10^8 and

speed of light in medium will be 1/3 * ( speed of light in air)=1/3*3*10^8

R(m)= 3*10^8/3*10^8*1/3

 R(m)=3

so the refractive index of medium, m is 3.
