Explanation:

  • When connecting in series we are able to meet the voltage required by the appliances and multiple appliances can be used together without any interruption when any one of them malfunctions.
  • In parallel the current is distributed but  the voltage remains the same. The appliance can be connected and disconnected anytime without affecting the whole circuit much.
  • We can switch off the appliance when not required with other appliances running.
