Kinetic energy = 1/2mv²

Where :

v = Velocity

m = mass

The two particles move with the same velocity.

Now :

100 = 0.5 × 4 × v²

100 = 2v²

v² = 100/2

v² = 50

v = √50 m/s

We want to get the kinetic energy for the smaller particle.

KE = 0.5 × 0.4 × (√50) ²

= 10 Joules
