A statue ,1.5m tall stands on the top of a pedestal. From a point on the ground, the angle of elevation of the top of the statue is 45° and from the same point the angle of elevation of the top of the pedestal is 30°. Find the height of the pedestal from the ground.​

length of the statue is 1.6 m

Hence AC =1.6m angle of elevation to the top of the statue is

60degree

Hence angle CPB-60 degree

angle of elevation at the top of the pedestal

=30 degree

angle APB=30degree

In triangle ABP

tan p =AB/BP

tan 45 degree =AB/BP

1=AB/BP

BP=AB

tan 60=CB/BP

root 3=CB/BP

root3BP=CB

Root 3AB=CB

root 3 AB=AC+AB

root3 AB-AB=1.6 AB=1.6/ROOT3 -1
