and the distance of the pedestal from the point on the ground be x

tan 30°=h/x=1/√3

= x=√3h .....i

tan 60°=6+h/x=√3

= x√3=6+h

=√3(√3h)= 6+h (from eq i)

= 3h = 6+h

=3h-h= 6

=2h =6

=h=6/2=3

hence height of the pedestal is 3m
