a point on the ground, the angle of elevation of the top of the statue is 600

same point, the angle of elevation of the top of the pedestal is 450

hence

(100+x)/tan(60)=100/tan(45)

100+x=100√3

x=100√3-100

x=100(√3-1)

√3≈1.73

so x≈100(1.73-1)

x≈100(0.73)

x≈73m
